The most difficult life lesson I think I have had to learn, is how to let go. Especially letting go of loved ones who've died and left this mortal coil.
Life I think is about letting go, and loss. We can't do anything about it, but let go, and to even somehow embrace it.
I was comforted to read a quote on my friend's blog post this morning that helped me to gain more of a perspective. It's still never easy to let go, but there in lies the lesson that I need reminding of when I come face to face with loss, which is more frequently as I age. But in spite of this there are gains of the spiritual kind and the memories of what we've lost become the blessings.
"When a loss is experienced, it's not the grief that prevents us from moving on but refusing to let go."
